TOUCHING THE EAGLES

PART ONE

NINE DAYS IN MAY

Day One - May 10, 1986 - Charlottesville, Virginia to Toronto, Canada

"See that girl over there dressed in blue? My guides are telling me to talk to her on the plane." That was the last thing I said to Mark and Lou.

"Let me know how you make out," Lou replied.

"See that girl over there...." and with that I was launched on one of the most fantistic adventures that even a novelist in his wildest moments couldn't have formulated. It has totally changed my life and I am sure it has changed the lives of many of the people I came in contact with during the thirty-three days of my cosmic journey.

It was about eleven o'clock in the morning when I made that peculiar statement about the girl. I was with freinds Lou and Mark who were seeing me off at the airport in Charlottesville, Virginia. It was a special day for us because Lou was celebrating her birthday.

After making the statement about the girl I went to the waiting room to await final boarding instructions. Before boarding I had a little time to reflect on the past week's activities.

Along with Lou and Mark and twelve other people, I attended a course called 'Guidelines' at the Monroe Institute at Faber, Virginia.

'Guidelines' is a study to assist one in learning states of consciousness and methods whereby communication can be established with other intelligence - i.e. Inner Self, Inner Helpers, Non-physical Freinds, Guides, or Universal Consciousness.

Hearing the call to board the plane I walked onto the runway. As I was approaching the plane I heard a man's voice behind me.

"How many people will board the plane?"

"Fifteen and two" replied the pilot.

Click. The course which I had just completed consisted of fifteen students and two instructors. Now aboard the plane will be fifteen passengers and two crew members.

"You are to board the plane last followed only by the crew," a voice in my head told me.

"Okay" I thought.

Everyone boarded the plane with the exception of an elderly gentleman and myself.

"Go ahead." he said.

"No, you go ahead please." I replied.

"No. you please", he said.

Looking him straight in the eye I said, "I'm sorry, but I really do have to board last."

"I understand," he said as he boarded ahead of me.

I was beginning to wonder if he had guides also who wanted him to board last. Or perhaps my guides influenced him to test me.

This was a sixteen seat plane and as I boarded I noticed there were two vacant seats, one at the front directly behind the cockpit and one several rows back. Noticing that the girl in blue was seated near the rear of the plane, I sat down in the front seat.

As the plane climbed I was absorbed in my thoughts. Interesting, I thought Fifteen and two on the course and fifteen and two on the plane.

"You are to write another book". The voice in my head spoke to me again.

Some of my friends have referred to the voice within by various names. For example, God's Angels, their higher self, guidance, and others. Since I have always been comfortable using the terminology "Guides" I refer to that label throughout this writing.

"You are to write another book."

I was told that this book would be written quickly. They told me I was to write of my experiences of meeting people. They went on to tell me that I should not use last names in the book and that I should write it in nine days."

The First Contactee
Upon landing at Pittsburgh I was told to be the first passenger off the plane. A crew member got off first to open the door and I exited right behind him. There was a bus there which was to take us to the terminal.

"Be last in the bus," I was told.

I got on the bus last and noticed that the only vacant seat was beside the girl in blue. She was facing sideways as I sat at the rear of the bus facing her. The bus was full and I was not about to speak to here yet. The bus stopped at the first terminal and most of the passengers got off. The girl and I were now alone in the rear corner of the bus.

"Speak to her," the guides informed me.

The guides told me that she was a student attending the University at Charlottesville and was returning home out west. I saked her if she were a University student and she affirmed that she was. She told me she was from Kansas City and was returning home for the holidays. "I don't want any information," she stated.

"Okay, that's fine. Thank you for listening to me anyway", I told her as I wished I were somewhere else. "Keep trying", the guides informed me.

"Forget it", I told them.

"Give her one of your business cards." they said.

I remembered that I had three business cards in my pocket. I had a package of them in my main bag and I was guided to have only three in my pocket. Later I realized that I needed only three before I arrived in Toronto.

Turning to the girl, I said, "Pardon me again, but I feel guided to give you my business card. I am not with any cult or anything. I am an addictions counselor in a small town in British Columbia, Canada. Please take my card and should you feel guided later on, drop me a line. I feel I may have some information for you pertaining to your studies." The Promise
As I headed up the ramp into the terminal the guides continued to talk to me.

"You are to sit in seat 5F."

I went straight to the Pittsburg ticket counter to be assigned a seat for the flight to Toronto. I asked the fellow behind the counter if I could be assigned seat 5F. After checking the computer he told me that seat 5F had already been assigned and gave me seat 4F.

I had some time before boarding so I sat down in a comfortable seat in the terminal to await the call to board the plane.

The dialogue continued with the guides. I was told to tell my contactees that I was writing a book about meeting people and that they would be in the book. This would help them to be more comfortable and to open up to me.

Further, they suggested I use "the three energy", which was the energy of the number three. The book was to be completed in nine days and the suggestioin was to call the book, 'Nine Days in May'

. I was told that inner guidance would direct me as to what to say to the people whom I would be contacting.

"We are assigned to you. We will be with you during the writing of the book.", I was told.

The guides told me to remember the words of the song, 'Bridge Over Troubled Waters'. They promised me that they would fulfill the promises in the song. As they spoke I was reminded of some of the words.
"When you are weary, feeling small"
"I'm on your side"
"I will comfort you"
"I'll take your part"
"I will ease your mind"

They concluded, "We promise. So be it."

Three in Seat 5F
Hearing the call to board the plane, I joyfully walked toward the gate. I boarded the plane and sat in my assigned seat, 4F. I continued to write in my journal. A well- dressed, middle aged gentleman came down the aisle, looked around and informed me that I was sitting in seat 5F and that he had been assigned to that seat. Suddenly I realized that I had counted four seats and had neglected to count the first seat which was turned around.

I told him that I would move and as I was about to get up the guides told me to stay put. At the same time, he told me that he would sit 4F and motioned me to remain seated.

As he was about to sit down an elderly gentleman appeared who also claimed he had been assigned to seat 5F. I asked them both if I could please look at their assigned ticket stubs and I confirmed that indeed, they both were assigned to seat 5F. Again the guides told me not to move.

"You must occupy this seat'. I was informed.

The older gentleman was adamant and insisted on sitting in seat 5F. The stewardess came by and reassigned his seat.

The yoinger man winked at me and smiled as he sat down in seat 4F.

Wendy
As soon as she walked down the aisle I knew that she was going to sit next to me.

"5D", she said.

"That is 5D," I replied as I pointed to her seat.

I assisted her with the storage of her bags and she sat down in seat 5D. Seat 5E was vacant. People were still boarding and I was concerned that someone might sit between us.

We fastened our seat belts and the plane took off. I looked around. I could not see a vacant seat anywhere on the plane with the exception of the seat between the girl and I. Having a vacant seat between us allowed a comfortable distance between us so that we could chat and not feel we were too physically close.

I received confirmation from the guides that she was to be my contact.

She introduced herself as Wendy, a university student returning home to Rochester, New York, The plane was to make a stop there on its way to Toronto. She had been attending a university in Indiana and was majoring in business and taking psychology and sociology courses.

The guides told me that she was eighteen and would be nineteen in a few weeks. She confirmed that this was right on.

The Blue Balloon
Wendy was a very attractive and interesting young person. She was wearing a lovely blue dress which matched the color of the blue balloon I was carrying.

While in Charlottesville I had breakfast with four friends, Lou and her husband Dave live on the New Land near the Monroe Institute at Faber, Virginia.

Dennis is from Buffalo and Mark from Seattle.

After leaving the restaurant Lou and Mark dropped me off at the airport. On the way, we saw two young girls dressed as clowns giving away free balloons.

I asked Mark to pull over so that I could get a blue balloon. One of the girls peeled off three balloons for us. I had my blue balloon and I gave a pink one to Lou and an orange one to Mark.

I told the girls that I would take the blue balloon to Expo 86 in Vancouver, Canada.

The plane landed at Rochester and a smiling Wendy departed.

Bob and Karen
There was a brief stop at Rochester. Passengers disembarked and then I suddenly realized that the seats around me were now vacant. The guides spoke to me again.

"Get back to your own seat. We have another contact for you."

I thought O.K., since I had been assigned to seat 4F I had better get back there. I quickly changed seats. Shortly, some people boarded and occupied seats 5D, 5E, and 5F and I knew that they were not my contacts.

As soon as I saw the young couple board the plane I knew that they were to be my contacts. They sat down in the two seats directly to my left. The guides informed me that there was no need to speak to them, that they would initiate the conversation.

They spoke to me almost immediately upon sitting down. They introduced themselves as Bob abd Karen and were returning home to Grand Prairie, Alberta after attending the funeral of Bob's sister in Rochester.

Exchanging business cards I learned that Bob was a carpenter by trade and operates his own business. We chatted during the short twenty minute flight to Toronto. I told Bob and Karen that I was being guided to write a book about following inner guidance, or intuition, and that the purpose of the book was to show how each of us could be guided in our lives if we stilled our minds and bodies and listened to 'the still small voice within'.

The plane landed in Toronto as we wished each other a safe journey home. The guides informed me that I would be seeing Bob and Karen again.

'Tell Him, I Love You'
I had arranged to spend two days in Toronto with my sister Linda and her husband Doug and their four small boys. However, in my haste to leave home, I had forgotten to bring along their address and phone number. They had recently moved so I called the operatot to inquire on a new listing with no result. I sat down in the terminal and thought that there must be a way to contact my sister.

"Call your brother in Halifax. He has the number," the inner voice informed me.

I placed the call, spoke to my brother Ron and got the phone number. Before I hung up the phone the guides spoke to me again.

"Tell him, I love you," they said.

"I love you Ron," I found myself saying.

"Me too," he responded.

I was beginning to enjoy this constant communication with the guides.

I placed the call to Linda and arrangements were made to pick me up. As I was waiting the guides flashed a mental picture in my mind of my sister driving me back to their home. I was sitting in the front seat with her and the two oldest of her four boys were in the back seat. However, when I was picked up the whole family was there to meet me. So I thought the guides were wrong this time.

Confirmation of the Guides at Work
Before my ride arrived I was told by the guides that during my stay in Toronto I would get confirmation from several sources that they were working with me as a source of spiritual power.

During the evening Linda, Doug and I participated in a quiet meditation and prayer time in their living room. They are very lovely and spiritual people and a sincere prayer was offered form them to me. This allowed me to feel extremely calm and peaceful. I thought of the line in the song, 'Mrs Robinson', sung by Simon and Garfunkel, 'Heaven holds a place for those who pray'.

Linda told me that during July of 1981, while she was thinking of me, she was guided to a verse in the Bible, Psalm 41, Verse 2, which reads in part, "and he shall be blessed upon the earth". She read this verse to me. This was to be my first confirmation that the guides were working with me.
