TOUCHING THE EAGLES

PART TWO

ACROSS NINE STATES IN NINE DAYS

Day Twelve - August 12, 1986 - From to Cheyenne, Wyoming to Boulder, Colorado

Golf At Cheyenne
Upon awakening in the morning I noticed I had parked in the best possible location in the parking lot. I was under a big tree shading the sun and away from people entering the information center. I managed to have a shower and get cleaned up before receiving instructions to drive around Cheyenne.

I drove around town for awhile and suddenly found myself driving past a golf course.

"You are to go there to make your next contacts," I was told.

I had brought my golf clubs along so I stopped at the pro shop to inquire about playing.. I was paired with three local fellows; Joe, age twenty-eight was a petroleum engineer at Bakersfield Naval Reserve in California and was home on leave. Tom, age fourty-two, was a physical education teacher at a local high school and Dale was a retired school principal. Joe was my main contact. Joe gave me valuable information relating to possible future developments; information that I cannot disclose at this time.

We finished our golf game as a heavy, steady rain came down.

Call Robert at Boulder
Since it was raining I decided to drive the 90 miles to Boulder, Colorado.

Before leaving home the contact wanted me to contact Robert (Last name was given) at Boulder, Colorado. Arriving in Boulder I was able to get his phone number from the operator. I hestitated to place the call wondering what I would say to him, since I did not know him and had no former contact with him. The guides informed he to tell him that I was just influenced to talk to him. Leaving the phone booth before making the call I returned back to my car to think it over. Sitting in my car I suddenly noticed the kilometers driven on the car was set at 33663. I had arrived at Boulder on Highway 33.

"Confirmation? Place the call." I heard the guides say.

I went back to the phone booth, called Robert and we agreed to meet for breakfast the next morning.

Nina And Charles
I checked into a motel and decided to attend an Alcohlics Anonymous meeting. There were about fifty people at the meeting and to my surprise they were mostly young people. Most were teenagers or were in their early twenties and appeared to be 'street wise'. They were off alcohol and drugs and appeared to be happy and comfortable with their change in life style in sobriety. After the meeting I talked for some time with Nina, Charles and Ed.

The guides informed me that Nina and Charles were my contacts at the meeting.
