NINE DAYS AT MT SHASTA

Crystal Clear With Hobart and Stan
I left Ukiah in the morning and began the trip to Mt Shasta, several hours drive to the north-east. I travelled east on Highway 20 to connect with Interstate 5 which would take me north to Mt Shasta.
At 10:09 I was following a small car when I suddenly noticed a reflection through the rear window of the car. A crystal hanging on the sunvisor gave off rainbow colors. There were two men in the vehicle.
"You will be talking with them at 10:33," I was told.
They were travelling rather fast and appeared to be in a hurry. However, I managed to stay at a reasonable distance behind. At 10:30 we arrived at a small community at Clear Lake called Clear Lake Oaks. Their car suddenly pulled into the filling station. I pulled in behind them and was talking with them at 10:33.
Hobart and Stan were artists living in Ferndale, California and were on their way to Sacromento on business. Hobart ran an art gallery and Stan had worked for many years with kinetic metal sculpture.
I asked Hobart about the crystal hanging in the window of the car. It was small and shaped like a heart.
"It has no special meaning. A girl gave it to me." he replied.
The crystal served as a focal point to begin the conversation. I told them I was writing a book on following inner guidance and the significance of the 10:33 connection.
"We were not going to stop here since we did not really need to fill up; yet we did stop." Stan replied.
I wondered if the guides had a hand in their stopping.
Hobart and Stan gave me business cards and a few brochures. Stan's kinetic sculpture work has been displayed in many museums and exhibitions. With his permission I quote the following from one of his brochures.
"All my life I've been interested in the way things work, and kinetic sculpture is the natural result of combining design and mechanics. A sense of humor helps too. I want my sculptyres to be as much fun to own as they are to make.
What Next God?
As I continued my trip I reflected on my talk with the last contacts. Wondering what or who I was to encounter next, I asked within. "What next God?" Instantly I heard a voice in my head as if it were speaking from the back seat of the car.
"Turn on the radio." the voice said.
Without changing stations I turned on the car radio and heard the following.
"The man that listens to God and doeth not is built on a shaky foundation."
I was told to listen carefully and record what I was hearing. The voice on the radio continued.
"God speaks to us so that we can communicate the truth. We are to communicate these truths to others so that they can pass it on. Every single one of us, every moment of our life, is communicating something. Fellowship with God is what God wants you to have. God speaks to you. Are you communicating the truth about God? Are you communicating the truth about yourself? The Holy Spirit is living within us." The minister's message was summed up under the title, "What it means to be listening to God." Fittingly, it was an appropriate and timely message for me.
Arrival at Mt Shasta
Arriving at Mt Shasta City at 4:00 P.M. I gassed up my car and drove down the main street.
{Author's Note: This was my first of many trips to Mt Shasta. I returned the following year to write the book,
the Harmonic Convergence - 7 Days at Mt Shasta and I lived on the mountain during the summer months in 1990.}
Then I located the road which would take me up the mountain. I was told by the guides that in order to make my contacts I was to leave town to travel up the mountain at 4:33 precisely.
Following instructions, I left on schedule and drove up the beautiful mountain of the Shasta/Trinity National Forest. At the three miles mark I was at an elevation of 4380 feet and at the fourteen miole mark I was at an elevation of 7700 feet. Reaching the parking lot at the top I mentally asked my guides to direct me.
There were about ten vehicles parked in the lot and I instinctively knew where to park. I parked by one of the vehicles, got out of the car, stretched and took several deep breaths f the clean mountain air.
Dave and Jim From Maryland
The guides wanted me to wait beside my vehicle. Three minutes later two male hikers came along. I had parked next to their vehicle.
Here I met Dave, age twenty-eight, and Jim, age twenty-seven. They flew from Maryland on the east coast to San Francisco, rented a car and came to Mt Shasta for a holiday. They had been here for three days and were living in a tent on the mountain.
Dave and Jim came to Mt Shasta "for spiritual significances". They had heard of the high energy of the mountain and felt inwardly guided to spend some time within the environment of the mountain.
We talked for some time sharing similar interests in the metaphysical. Then we drove down to Mt Shasta City and had dinner together.
Michael, Janice, Sadie and Kelsey
After dinner I left with Dave and Jim to go back up the mountain to watch for U.F.O. activity. When we arrived at the top we met Michael and Janice and their two small children, Sadie and Kelsey. They were from Millfield, Ohio and they too, like Dave and Jim, were guided to come to Mt Shasta to experience the spiritual energy of the mountain.
Michael, age thirty-seven, was a song writer and musician. He and Janice, age thirty-three, had been involved in metaphysical and spiritual work for some time. Their children, Sadie and Kelsey, were two and a half years and five months young, respectively. I was to spend considerable time with Michael and his family during the following nine days.
Dave, Jim, Michael and his family and I spotted eight U.F.O's over the mountain that first evening.
The full moon was bright in the sky as I prepared to bed down for the night on the mountain. To draw the energy and vibrations of the mountain I slept on the ground in my sleeping bag.
