I'M GLAD I FOUND YOU

I'm glad I found you
I want you to know
Wherever I travel
I want you to go.

We are one and the same energy
And I love you my dear
Wherever I am
I want to feel you near.

Walking hand in hand
We shall share a lot
Over sea and land
Cool days and hot.

Comfort we shall give
And joy all the way
As we travel together
Journeying life's highway.

WHISPERING GRASS

An early tee off
In the morning dew
Whenever I golf
I enjoy being near you.

Whispering grass
Cool and green
I walk upon you
Softly as in a dream.

Soft and plush
As I walk along
No need to rush
As I sing you a song.

Whispering grass
I love you so
And want to be near you
To watch you grow.

You have a friend
Moving through the trees
The cool fresh wind
The gentle breeze.

Your sound, Whispering Grass
I love to hear
As you caress the wind
And draw the breeze near.

Your whisper is soft
Only heard with a keen ear
Only the attentive
Know you are there.

Whispering Grass
Nature's colorful hue
As by you I pass
I love listening to you.

The poem "Whispering Grass" is in memory of Bill Kenny of the original INKSPOTSall black singing group.
I had the good fortune of golfing with Kenny on numerous occasions when we both lived in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in the early 1960's. Although the words in the poem are different, Kenny often, while golfing, sang the song "Whispering Grass". Walter.

The following e mail was received August 8, 2000 from Mili Lilley, Inkspots Manager.
Thank you for your e-mail. Whispering Grass was first recorded by The Ink Spots -- with Bill Kenny on lead -- in 1940. It was the "B" side of their hit recording "Maybe". Whispering Grass is the song that is most requested when the group performs in the UK and Australia. Whispering Grass is a "standard" in England. Until a few years ago, a popular TV show in England used it as their theme. We still perform it quite often and it's one of my favorites.
Nice hearing from you.

ONENESS

While looking out my window in the early morn
I noticed a bird upon the branches of a tree
He appeared to be comfortable and at ease
As he glanced over and stared at me.

As I watched the bird with awe
I projected my consciousness to his being
And felt his small heart beat within
As I became at one with what I was seeing.

Words cannot describe the feeling
Of love and joy and bliss
Of experiencing a heart beat together
While being with another in oneness.

A NEW TIME

There's a new world evolving
As dimensions come together
New vibrations, people humming
Everything will be better.

The stars will be seen
Clearly in the sky at night
Giving off a twinkling gleam
As they sparkle with delight.

The world is on the verge
Of a new age, to many a dream
And finer vibrations shall merge
And oneness will be supreme.

Soon the world will experience a new time
As we take on a new body of light
In harmony all bells will chime
We will be equal in each other's sight.

Some will experience a change of energy
As the world goes through its purging
Yet the meek will be joyful and free
As they experience the new world emerging.

THESE THREE THINGS

These three things are all I need
To get me through the day
Strength, Protection and Guidance
As I travel on my way.

I ask for Strength as I meditate
To carry my burdens with ease
To walk tall and to feel great
To use my power as I please.

I ask for Protection from negativity
To know intuitively from within
To be warned of impending dangers
In time to avoid them.

And last of all, I ask for Guidance
As I travel on life's path
To do what is expected of me
As I take time to play and laugh.

MY SECRET PLACE

In my secret place
I spend many hours
Walking in a beautiful garden
Among the beauty of the flowers.

As I look up into the sky
Heavy clouds begin to form
Suddenly I have a feeling
That I'm standing before a storm.

As I watch the clouds roll in
Heavy and dark before my eyes
I see a blue spot above the clouds
A very welcomed surprise.

As I watch the blue spot
The whole sky clears
And above in the sky
A colorful rainbow appears.

I elevate my consciousness above
To bathe within the rainbow
Receiving a feeling that I love
A cleansing as the colors glow.

I come back down
And then I know
That I am changed
And I am in a radiant glow.

MY MOUNTAIN SPOT

There's a place in the mountain
Where I love to be
A special place
That's dear to me.

My favorite place
Is a place of rest
It is safe and secure
Like an eagle's nest.

A short journey from home
33 kilometers to the west
Whenever I go there
Nature is at her best.

I go there often
Usually late at night
To watch the heavens
And the stars shine bright.

Sometimes I go there in daylight
Finding myself in joyful bliss
Sitting in wonder and awe
Observing what the sun has kissed.

To my mountain I often go alone
For a short interlude
To sit by my favorite stone
To enjoy my solitude.

Basking in the energy high
Near the top of the mountain peak
From my higher consciousness
I receive the guidance I seek.

I am Oneness
As my energies clear
I am in Super-consciousness
When I am there.

ODE TO FRIENDSHIP

You mean so much to me
Thank you for being my friend
Whether we are on land or sea
Our friendship shall never end.

We have formed a friendship
A glowing energy of light
That shall shine forever free
In the heavens bright.

Together we have shared much joy
And had a lot of fun
A girl and a boy
Travelling together as one.

May we continue to share
The consciousness of one energy
And may we be free
And our love forever be.

TRUE FRIENDSHIP

Your friendship is a wondrous thing
Full of love and joy and fun
The whole day full of blessings you bring
I'd rather be with you than anyone.

Your wit, your charm, your smile
You make me feel warm all over
You make me feel like a young child
Who just found a four leaf clover.

Some say friendship is hard to come by
And a good friend is hard to find
When I think about it, I sigh
For I found true friendship in you.

TWO BIRDS IN FLIGHT

Two birds in flight
Gliding along a wind swept beach
Just off to the right
Well within reach.

Soaring day and night
Serenely on currents of air
Onward and upward toward the light
Over the blue ocean clear.

Flying calmly through the mist
Seeing Nature's light and hue
And all that the sun has kissed
Memories of me and you.

ANCIENT SHORES

Memories of ancient shores
Seen in a vision, a place I know
From my heart a longing pours
To go back to that place of long ago.

Where white clouds are seen
In the blue sky above
Where we have once been
In the land that we love.

Where is seen a double rainbow in the sky
Seen even when there is no rain
When I think of that land I sigh
Yearning to go there again.

Where a great statue stands
On the land of the ancient shore
To recall its location is hard
Yet I want to be there once more.

THE GIFT OF THE EAGLE

I dream of the eagle
The eagle I love
Soaring in the night sky
On wings high above.

The eagle comes to me
Each night as I sleep
We merge our consciousness
As I slumber deep.

He takes me on a journey
As we fly through the sky
Soaring higher and higher
To a magical mountain high.

Strength, Protection and Guidance
Are the three things he gives
As we fly high together
To the land where he lives.

In his magical land
I am taken on a tour
To a room full of crystals
With white marble on the floor.

Upon return I do not recall
My experiences clearly
Yet some memories remain
And I treasure them dearly.

Upon return he gives me a gift
A crystal ball with chain
Which will give me knowledge
Until I go there again.

Upon awakening from sleep
I feel energized and high
Charged from the energy
Of the eagle in the sky.

THE SPACESHIPS

In the glow of the night
The spaceships appear
Five to the right
Ever so near.

Circling they follow one another
As a feeling of happiness they bring
O'er one mountain, then the other
Carefully forming a ring.

They appear as discs in the sky
Giving off a bluish-white light
As they circle overhead high
Lighting up the night.

Watching with delight
One is filled with joy
At the incredible sight
As they depart with one word 'Alahoy'.

THE CRYSTAL HEART

Beyond the rainbow
On the wings of a snow-white dove
Is a heart of crystal
Filled with your love.

The dove brings the energy
Of which you are a part
Along with the love
That lives in your heart.

THE PINK HEART

I send you universal love
In the form of a pink heart
To bless you within your being
Each and every part.

Hand set with a gem so bright
An Austrain crystal dear
When you hold it to the sunlight
Beautiful rainbows will appear.

THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Twas Christmas Eve
The children were in bed
Comfortably clad
From their toes to their head.

Sheets were pulled tight
As the three children slept
While around them at midnight
Santa crept.

The children slept soundly
As Christmas morning neared
While to them in a dream
Three angels appeared.

The angels hovered over the three
Showering blessings from above
'May each child be free
To live in light and love'.

PANSIES

Beautiful pansies
Growing low to the ground
Giving off a bluish-purple light
Of healing all around.

May the pansies fill your room
With the violet glow bright
Until your aura is filled
With their vibration of light.

THE RUNAWAY

Walking toward the future
Walking all alone
Walking on a dark path
Far away from home.

Like a little child
Feeling sad and blue
Walking under a dark cloud
Wondering what to do.

Knowing there's always hope
There's always a friend nearby
Knowing with every problem she can cope
And with love fear will die.

And knowing love is the way
To clear away the fear
And knowing soon someone will say
'I love you, my dear'.

ONLY LOVE CAN STOP
A CHILD FROM HURTING

Innocent and forlorn
With ribbon in her golden hair
The child walks down the street
Looking for someone to care.

Looking cute and pert
She gives off a silent plea
Her feelings have been hurt
Within she cries, "Someone care for me'

Reflected in her eyes is fear
But also can be seen
The warmth and caring of love
Where only love has been.

If you see a child who is not at peak
And appears to be feeling blue
If you do not wish to speak
Send out the thought, 'I Love You'.

ANGEL

Confident and calm
With countenance so mild
A blossom of charm
A beautiful child.

She is a luminous point
From which emanates light
Emitting a golden glow
Shining so bright.

Giving off a radiant glow
She pretend to be coy
While her light emanates
To disseminate joy.

Soft and serene
Gentle and meek
She is friendly and loving
Every day of the week.

Articulate yet humble
Wise beyond her years
In tune with her feelings
She never holds back tears.

At times she is bold
And flies into a rage
She is a perfect mold
Of girls her age.

She is generous and giving
Perceived as a sun beam
She knows all about living
Yet she is only thirteen.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE
TO BE OUR FRIEND

With wide open and tear filled eyes
The girl and the puppy dog stare
The sound is muffled as she cries
We want someone to care.

In the past she felt forlorn and alone
No one seemed to understand
She stayed by herself at home
No one was there to take her hand.

Then she made friends with the puppy dog
And had a friend at last
Together they would go off and jog
Their lovefor each other was fast.

Although their friendship will never end
Their message is clearly heard
We're looking for someone to be our friend
To love us and to keep their word.

Only love can stop a child from hurting
We all have the Child Within, it is true
When you see a child who is hurting
Just smile and say, 'I Love You'.

SEVEN STARSHIPS

Sitting here as I write
On my mountain late at night
Looking at the stars above
Twinkling and sparkling bright.

For three hours I sit alone
Lots of activity in the sky
While sitting upon my favorite stone
Seven starships have passed by.

MY DOG MICKEY

When I was just a little boy
I had a faithful friend
Who was with me every day
Right up to the end.

My friend was my puppy dog
Mickey was his name
Wherever I went
Along with me he came.

We had a favorite game
We played most every day
Fetch the stick was its name
A game Mickey loved to play.

He loved to play tricks on me
Mickey was really cool
Like running out from behind a tree
When I returned home from school.

Whenever I came home
He was all over me
He loved me and me alone
It was plain to see.

Whenever I sat down
Mickey was always there
Close by my side
Next to my chair.

Night after night
He slept cuddled to me
Lying on my right
Sleeping peacefully.

Whenever I was sick
He gave me tender care
My face he would lick
Mickey was always there.

Whenever I wanted to talk
He would listen carefully
As together we would walk
My dog Mickey and me.

Then one day Mickey was taken away
And I was sad for awhile
I shall always treasure the memory
Of Mickey with a smile.
