STORYTIME

I love to tell stories
Of magic and wonder
Of sunshine and nightime
And raindrops and thunder.

I love to tell of robins that sing
Of new born birds in their nest
Of what new life spring will bring
And of turtles that stop to rest.

I love to tell of birds that fly
And of the eagle soaring high above.
And of fish swimming by
And of the swans that I love.

I love to tell of dogs that bark
And of cats that go meow
Of the meadowlark in the park
And of a surprised child saying 'wow'.

I love to tell of trees that grow
And of flowers with a beautiful smell
And of fresh new fallen snow
And of water running from a well.

I love to tell of ducks that quack
Of cows that moo and rabbits that hop
And of the swallows returning back
I could never stop.

THE FLOWER GIRL

When I was just a little girl
I used to spend hours
Walking through the countryside
Among the beauty of the flowers.

I loved the smell of the flowers there
As I walked about the land
And I freely picked the flowers
And carried them in my hand.

My favorite flower is the camellia
With its elegant leaves of dark green
A more beautiful and showy flower
I have never seen.

Now as I walk about the land
Carrying my flowers with me
I can walk proud and tall
For I am the Flower Girl, you see.

PICKING FLOWERS

I am the Flower Girl
Doing my thing
Picking flowers
In the early spring

When springtime arrives
And the flowers are out
I am the Flower Girl
I proudly shout.

I'm always picking flowers
And never get caught
I pick for many hours
From every flower pot.

I pick flowers of every color
From the red to the blue
Every moment while I am picking
I'm thinking of you.

PRESS ON

Keep on doing what you're doing
Do what you love to do
Press on and keep on doing it
And you will be a happy you.

TELL ME ANOTHER STORY

Tell me another childhood story
Your past I want to know
Tell me of the flower girl
And how you loved flowers so.

Tell me, tell me, tell me
Your voice I love to hear
Tell me that childhood story
I'll listen with a keen ear.

I love to hear your stories
I could listen all day long
Your stories to me are soothing
Just like a songbird's song.

Never stop telling me stories
For I never tire of them
Each story that you tell me
Is like a precious gem.

DOLPHINS AT SUNSET

Like dolphins at sunset, you and I
Looking high into the sky
In wonder of the beauty all around
Watching the sun go down.

O CHILD WITHIN

O Child within
I love you so
Each day as I live
Teach me to grow.

As I fit together
The pieces of life
Let me be free
From problems and strife.

And as I travel
As A free soul
Teach me to unravel
The mysteries you know.

O Child within
Let me recall
Your smile within
Beaming out to all.

Teach me to know
All about living
And free me to go
On receiving and giving.

Speak to me softly
Let me hear your voice
Dear Child within
As together we rejoice.

Teach me to play
Laugh and have fun
As I journey each day
In God's golden sun

O Child within
Teach me to laugh
And live in joy
As I travel life's path.

Teach me to love
And to live in light
O Child within
Keep your light bright.

O Child within
Stay close by my side
And remind me often
That with me you abide.

Teach me to feel
Live, love in light
All that is real
In your loving sight.

O Child within
I know we are one
Let us walk on together
As companions in fun.

LOVE IS ALL WE NEED

On this card I write with pen
And with these words take heed
Until we meet again
Love is all we need.

BORN TO BE WILD

Born to be wild
Born to be free
A wonder child
Full of glee.

From an early age
Riding a bike
On a rampage
An unusual tyke.

Before he could walk
Noticed by passers-by
He rode down the block
With head held high.

Looking straight ahead
He knows how to laugh
And enjoy life as a kid
As he rides on his path.

THE PIANO

When I was just a little girl
Before I went to school
I loved to play the piano
And sit upon the stool.

'You play so well', they said
Although I was only three
Coming from withinside my head
It seemed so natural to me.

No one ever knew
How much I loved to play
Even as I grew
In my mind I play the piano every day.

NEW HIKING BOOTS

Now that I have my special gift
I feel more at ease
In my new hiking boots
Walking is a breeze.

I can step out into the world
And walk confident and tall
And march along and sing a song
Wearing my hiking boots and all.

THE GOLDFISH AND THE PUSSYCAT

A small kitten I am
A curious one
I love to have fun
And play in the sun.

I look into your world
As you swim silently around
A fish in a bowl
A new friend I have found.

I wish I were there
Swimming with you so free
Without a care
Moving effortlessly.

Although I'd love to be a fish
And be where you're at
If I had my wish
I'd still be a cat.

REACH FOR THE STARS

Follow your path
As you go on your way
Take time to laugh
Frequently each day.

Look to the inner way
To the spirit within
And you will be guided
Again and again.

Smile at adversity
Look fear in the face
And light will shine through
To bless you with grace.

Reach for the stars
In whatever you do
Believe in yourself
And your dreams will come true.

TWO MICE AND A CAT

Proudly two mice played the piano
Together side by side
Creating a beautiful solo
Playing with great pride.

As the mice confidently played on
They were surprised by a cat in a tree
Who enjoyed their tune
And helped them create a melody.

In time the three
Composed the music and the words
Then they were free
To let their music be heard.

Friendship rides on wings of joy
Where only hearts can travel free
As high as light can soar
Live in love and harmony.

ANIMALS AND BIRDS

I love to tell stories
Of animals and birds
And relate my feelings
In description of words.

I love to tell
Of the bumble bee flying
And proudly boast
Of the strength of the lion.

And the elephant so friendly
As big as can be
And the owl so wise
Sitting up in a tree.

I love to tell
Of the trutle on the ground
And with excitement yell
About the daisies I've found.

I love to hear
The bluebird of song
And see with glee
The rabbit hopping along.

And last of all
The frog I love
And the beautiful butterfly
Flittering above.

I AM A BUTTERFLY

I am flighty
I am free
I am light
I am me.

I am dear
I am alive
I am here
I have arrived.

I am free
From my cocoon
I can be
As light as a balloon.

I can rise above
And soar and fly
And unconditionally love
And continuously feel high.

I am colorful
Like a rainbow
Emitting a light
That gives off a glow.

I give off every color
From the red to the violet
Vibrations of light
Comparable to a sunset.

I am prosperous
I am gentle and meek
I am humble
I am unique.

People love to see
Me as I love to be
Flying free
I am a butterfly.

MY SON, I LOVE YOU

I don't always tell you
How much I care
And how I appreciate
You're being there.

I don't see you often
But I forget you not
Although I don't see you
I think of you a lot.

I remember the fun we had
When you were young
How we used to laugh and play
And the songs we sung.

And I recall the way
I used to tell you story rhymes
And how you used to say
'You told me that one a dozen times'.

Although I was not always there
My thoughts were there with you
For you I always did care
My feelings for you were true.

As I write to you today
This one thing is true
To you I can proudly say
My son, I love you.

Dedicated to my son, Doug

BUTTERFLIES AND BUBBLES

Butterflies of many colors
Bubbles in the air
Beautiful, brilliant, bright
Floating freely there.

I see you blowing bubbles
As butterflies flutter around
Following the beautiful bubbles
Floating softly to the ground.

I love to be with you
To watch the butterflies flow
And to watch you too
As pretty bubbles you blow.

Whenever I am with you
I am free of troubles
Like being in a fairyland
Of butterfles and bubbles.

ME AND MY TEDDY BEAR

When I was just a little boy
When I was only three
I sat with my teddy bear
Under the Christmas tree.

Sitting there we could not be seen
By family who were near
As we sang Christmas carols
Be and my teddy bear.

I recall so well those days
When I was young and free
How I went with my brothers
To chop down our Christmas tree.

And the excitement of having teddy with me
To open gifts with my family dear
And together sing beneath the tree
Me and my teddy bear.

ANGELA'S CAT

My cat is usually good
But sometimes a real stinker
I love her very much
Her name is Tinker.

Her markings are matched
On her face and body
Pure white under her neck
On top she is tabby.

She does everything
That a cat is not supposed to do
Like turning on the radio
And flushing the toilet too.

She attacks dogs
Yet protects my dog Buddy
And walks through the house
When her feet are muddy.

When she wants attention
She can be really mean
And sometimes for days
She cannot be seen.

She is an unusual cat
My cat Tinker, I suppose
Whenever I am upset
She likes to lick my nose.

She eats fless
And often talks to me
My cat Tinker
Fills me with glee.

Words cannot measure
Happiness, affection and being free
I shall always treasure
Tinker's love for me.
