Okay, you must *really* be interested, though it's not that big a deal. :-)
'Way back when I first began modeming in about 1984 or so, on a TRS-80 Color Computer II of all things, I dialed in to a local BBS and the custom-written software (there wasn't much else available for a TRS-80 Model I at the time!) insisted that I enter a handle of *exactly* eight characters. I had recently been introduced to the works of Howard Phillips Lovecraft and thought that "Cthulhu" had just the right bizarre ring to it to suit my needs. Whereupon I simply spliced in the first "h" and a local BBS legend was born! :-)
