** Read all of these instructions before beginning to assemble the model. ** This is a paper model of Rocketship X-M from the movie of the same name. Scale is approximately 1:200 and the finished model is approximately 8.75 inches tall. The model is intended to print at 7.5 inches by 10 inches (190.5mm x 254mm), so it should print correctly on US Letter or A4 size sheets of 90 lb (165 gram per square meter) index card by centering the image on the page, preserving the aspect ratio, and setting the image width to 7.5 inches (190.5 mm). ** Precise scoring and cutting is essential for proper fit of the parts. ** 1. Lightly score the triangular tabs on part 1. Cut out part 1. Roll part 1 into a tapered cylinder and glue at the long tab. 2. Score the tabs on part 2. Cut out part 2, being careful to remove all material between the tabs. Fold all the tabs away from the printed side, not quite to 90 degrees. Push part 2 through the center of part 1 until the printed side of part 2 is flush with the edge of part 1. Glue into place all around. ** Do not score the tabs on part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6 and part 7. ** 3. Cut out part 3. Form and glue part 3 into a shroud with the printed side out. Gently bend the tabs on part 1 inward slightly. Align the seam of part 3 with the seam of part 1 and glue into place all around. 4. Cut out part 4. Form and glue part 4 into a shroud with the printed side out. Gently bend the tabs on part 3 inward slightly. Align the seam of part 4 with the seam of part 3. Check that the two lines and three rectangles on each part line up; adust as needed. Glue into place all around. 5. Cut out part 5. Form and glue part 5 into a shroud with the printed side out. 6. Cut out part 6. Form and glue part 6 into a shroud with the printed side out. Gently bend the tabs of part 5 inward slightly. Align the seam of part 6 with the seam of part 5. Check that the two lines on each part line up; adjust as needed. Glue into place all around. 7. Cut out part 7. Form and glue part 7 into a cone with the printed side out. Gently bend the tabs of part 6 inward slightly. Align the seam of part 7 with the seam of part 6. Check that the two lines on each part line up; adjust as needed. Glue into place all around. 8. Gently bend the tabs of part 4 inward slightly. Align the seam of part 5 with the seam of part 4. Check that the two lines on each part line up; adjust as needed. Glue into place all around. 9. Score all the straight lines on one part 8. Be very careful to score the longest line on part 8 accurately and deeply for best results. Cut out the part 8 and fold away from the printed side at all scored lines. The outermost small triangle glues to the back side of the opposite long triangle, forming a pointed fin with a triangular cross-section. Glue the edges of the open side of the part 8 to part 1 where indicated. Repeat for the other three parts 8. 10. Score one part 9 on the line through its center. Score accurately and deeply for best results. Cut out the part 9, leaving a bit of extra card all around. Fold the part 9 double with the printed side out. Glue the unprinted side of the part 9 to itself, and place under a weight to hold it flat while the glue dries. Repeat for the other part 9. 11. Trim each part 9 to remove excess card. Glue the convex edge of each part 9 to one of the two lines running from the tip of part 7 to part 1.
